West Palm Beach Antique Show

Photobucket

Antique shows are entertaining and provide the likelihood of finding treasures, learning something new, and being entertained. There are always interesting people to meet, many of whom have acquired great knowledge about the collections they offer. I take pleasure in having a chance to touch the past by connecting with the well-made objects of many years ago.

Recently, I had the opportunity of visiting the West Palm Beach Antique Show. The Show filled the inside of a huge warehouse where many vendors displayed their booths, offering estate jewellery, textiles, furniture, glass, silver, porcelain, paintings, and other things from the past. The number of objects for sale was overwhelming.

Finding a few treasures and speaking to some of the dealers was my ultimate goal. I look for things that stir my passions, are of excellent quality and have good style. My preferences are not solely objects of over 100 years of age, but most importantly objects of quality and style.

  1. I'm sorry I haven't visited your blog in a while. Look what I've missed!

My parents live in West Palm Beach too, I wonder if they got to go to this fun show? We have some great antique shops where I live (Waxhaw, NC) and I've seen some of these items there. My eyes always gravitate towards the red and amethyst glass. What did you get?

  2. Donna, Your parents must enjoy living in West Palm Beach. It is a special place. At this antique show, I bought some beautiful Waterford pieces.
    Kind regards,
    Juliane

  3. We do this show every month, sell mainly porcelain but we just tossed our Wades into the mix which is actually starting to attract attention as its an inexpensive hobby to begin.

The summer sales are much slower, lots of lookers and be-backs. We do it mainly to bring attention to our Antiques store for sales. The biggest complaint I hear is people wanting things for next to nothing. I'm not sure customers take into consideration that dealers have to make money also.
